Trader Joe's is opening 21 new stores in 13 states: See the locations |

While other chains continue to shutter locations, Trader Joe’s is expanding. After opening two locations earlier this month, the grocery store chain plans to open nearly two dozen more in 13 states, according to its website. Currently, Trader Joe’s has 581 stores in 42 states, plus the District of Columbia. The only states without any locations are Alaska, Hawaii, Mississippi, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, West Virginia and Wyoming.

The next generation of “Hunger Games” stars have just been cast in the upcoming film adaptation of the franchise’s latest installment. “Sunrise on the Reaping,” Suzanne Collins latest “Hunger Games” book, hit shelves March 18. Shortly after the book was announced in June 2024, Lionsgate confirmed that a film adaptation of the story would premiere in theaters in 2026. Like “The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes,” “Sunrise on the Reaping” is another prequel. The story follows 16-year-old Haymitch Abernathy as he navigates being reaped and having to fight to the death in the 50th annual Hunger Games. |

| World Pride events pulled from Kennedy Center for LGBTQ+ safety |

Organizers said they are moving a week’s worth of events for World Pride DC away from the Kennedy Center, saying they didn’t have another choice as they try to protect the LGBTQ+ community. A representative for Capital Pride Alliance confirmed The Tapestry of Pride at the Kennedy Center has been canceled. The events were billed as a “celebration of diversity and unity.” The Associated Press first reported the events scheduled from June 5 to June 8 have been quietly canceled or moved to other venues. |
